My mother is listening to the Corrs, who are rather too spit-shined and glossy for my tastes. I am listening to Kate on the soundtrack of Me.

Yesterday actually did not suck. I hit the snooze bar twice this morning, a first for the summer, but it did not suck. Thirteen hours in record heat (WITH CHILDREN), but no, it did not suck.

Today was actually rather lovely. So many hugs come my way these days, I could never feel affection-deprived.

The way home it became clear I need to listen to more Pink Floyd. I have always had a soft spot for British groups whose accents come through - just a hint - in their songs.
