(no subject)

I've had a terribly productive day. I decided to go to law school after I take my year off and live in Northampton/the Valley.

Feel free to raise an eyebrow, drop a jaw, believe I've gone insane, etc etc. I am feeling very good about this decision, though.

ok pardon me, the pain killers may be affecting me but LAW SCHOOL? why the hell do you want to go to law school????? how will the serve your future? what are you contemplating doing? what??!!!! you want 4 more years of school without taking an english class? no poetry? (ok i'm assuming here at law school you only learn about law, but i could be wrong).... i'm so confused. and where would you go? you'd have to take the LSATS! are you mad? hmm.

Pay no attention to ladygrey...the painkillers must have gone to her head ;-)

I, obviously, believe law school is a wonderful option...though I am highly interested in hearing HOW exactly you came to this decision. I'm sure I'll hear all about it in 9 days...

Yea for productivity!

looky here. i don't need painkillers to be surprised at this decision. i mean, please, ivy of all people in law school? dear, no offense but it seems you avoid political discussion, have no interest in the news, etc. not that those things are necessarily integral to being in law school, but, what exactly do youwish to receive froma law school education? i cannot fathom you taking 4 years of school with only classes on LAW, the legal system, government, etc. there's no poetry in law school!!!! not much room for self-expression or creativity (at least not in the usual way). i'm not against law school by any means, but i really, truly, honestly don't understand what makes you desire to attend it.

[ there shall be no raising of eyebrows from this hemisphere. instead, i send encouragement, from afar. i miss your words. ]

xo.

Hey, Ivy--
I think it’s fab that you’ve decided to go to law school. Since I’ve (tentatively) come to the same decision I’ve been stockpiling how-to-get-into-law-school books and LSAT prep materials; if you’d like to borrow any of them, I’d be happy to drop them off next time I visit Northampton. Also, the Law School Admissions Council is offering the opportunity to take a free LSAT field test, which seems like an excellent way to practice. You can get more information and apply here. (http://www.lsac.org/LSAC.asp?url=/lsac/changing-news.asp#lsatfieldtest) Congratulations on your decision and good luck with the application process.
