I'm back! I am having a very hard time believing I was gone only 33 hours, seeing as I spent 10 of them sleeping, 11 of them driving, 3 of them eating, 1 reaquainting myself with NoHo, several driving around Claremont/Newport, and only, oh, *2* actually looking for an apartment. I also got to go into the Claremont office this morning and meet some of my future coworkers - though not the one I'll be working alone with 4 days a week, alas.

The apartment - my first! eeeeh! - is small, but it is a one-bedroom, which makes me happy, because deep down I was hoping for that over a studio. I like the separation. It has nice windows, is on the second floor, and has a very exciting enclosed porch off of the stairs and outside of my door, which adds like a whole other room at least in the non-dead-of-winter months. It's cable-ready, and I think I can AFFORD cable!!!! since rent's only 500/month, and that includes utilities.

The landlords live on the bottom floor of the house and are a very nice couple, both teachers, and have been renting the place for years, so I hope that all works out okay. But I really think I was incredibly lucky to find a decent AND affordable place, and so quickly, too. It's in Newport, and it's a very short walk to town, and subsequently to the office and the courthouse, too. Newport is a quaint little place but not terribly exciting. Claremont's a little better, but we're still talking Nowheresville here. But I'll be okay with that.

I'm really very tired. It's been a long couple of days. It's been a long couple of weeks. And my mother actually expects me to mow the lawn this weekend.

I'm probably a little *over*excited, here, but hey, it's my first solitary residence, and I can't help but be a little excited.
