I suspect I'll have a lot to say about my holiday in the coming weeks, as it was very intense in many ways. Or maybe not. I'll be in San Diego in three days and perhaps I'll just talk it right out of me. Cannot believe that is almost here; cannot believe it has been so long!

I am actually currently very mellow, full of some truly spectacular Thai food and wine and the prospect of leaving tomorrow and a forecast promising the snow showers will taper off by the time I leave, and a lunch date with Joy & Sarah before I do. Also some really great gifts. My apartment will be pleased.

Also got to spend some really wonderful time with my grandparents. But I nearly cried saying goodbye to them today, in the back of my mind knowing that despite their remarkable health and soundness of mind, at 90 there are no guarantees, and the very real possibility, each time we say goodbye, that it could be for the last time.

And my nephews. God how I adore them. The older one was never terribly cuddly as a baby and toddler - he got more so as he got older - but the not-quite two-year-old just clambers right up into your lap and burrows in. It's most pleasing.

Not actually looking forward to yet another 4 hour plus drive. Or lugging all my crap inside. Bleh.
