I got a cat!!
I feel like I've been considering one *forever*, but really I've only been seriously considering it for about three weeks. As in, I really do want a cat, now what problems might arise that I should sort out now? So I figured it all out as best I could. And then today, I was done with class at 11:30, and when I got home Melissa was home because her client canceled. So we spent the afternoon buying the essentials, and then driving to the Chester County SPCA and adopting Libby. She's six months old, sweet as hell, and beautiful. She was a stray, but we're pretty sure she must have been born in a home, because she's way too mellow (she's already pretty well settled in) to have been born a wild kitty, plus she seems to have the litter box thing down. She still needs to get checked by the vet - we're going Friday. (Hopefully, she'll tolerate this car ride better than today's - let's just say that the first thing we had to do with Libby when we got home was give the poor thing a bath. And then clean out the carrier.) I will be petrified until then, because I already love her to pieces. If there's anything seriously wrong with her, I'll be heartbroken.
Anyway, thanks to Melissa's digital camera, I have pictures!

I definitely think it was a good idea to get her - adopting our two cats is one of the best things Sean and I have ever done. Although it's a big responsibility, it's so wonderful having them around. Good luck with the vet, too - we just took our older one, Willow, to the vet, and she's 15 lbs! The vet was nice to us, though, and said, "Fifteen pounds of love!" Hehe. Congrats on your new kitty!
