So this morning before I left my apartment at 7:30 to walk to the train on what was already, at that hour, a miserably hot and humid day, having achieved MAYBE four hours of sleep the night before, due to the inevitable stress of starting something new, I consoled myself with thinking of how nice it would be to come home, and to actually be able to BE HOME, not studying or writing or anything else, of how wonderful and relaxing and appreciated that would be.
So when I dragged my exhausted, sweaty self home at 6pm, you can imagine what I felt when I soon discovered our ceiling was leaking.
I mean, it was annoying when the spot over my shower leaked, however many times that happened. But that, that was CONTAINED. THIS, this was in the hall, in both bathrooms, and extending into both bedrooms. And it was not, I eventually discovered, water.
Yeah, a toilet in the apartment above mine overflowed. And - well, I don't know what happened then, because I'm not entirely sure how one DOESN'T NOTICE that their toilet is overflowing. I mean, did they flush the toilet and RUN?
The maintenence guy eventually shut it off, Melissa eventually came home, and I quickly got over my general aversion to chemical-laden cleaning products. We scrubbed the carpets with Resolve, and used about half a bottle of Febreeze, and mopped up the bathrooms. And now it is almost midnight and I am so tired I'm seeing double.
SO happy I'm moving. So so so happy.

And how was the internship? I'm so curious, though I'm sure you will write about it when you have an opinion.

If smells persist, that Oxy stuff is pretty amazing. Just sayin'.
