eeek!

I would say something like, I swear I'm going to start writing about something other than tv soon, I promise, except it would probably be a total lie. I mean I guess it won't be because seasons are ending and I won't have anything to write about, but if I did? People, I'm starting barbri on Monday, that is to say, ten weeks of immersive bar exam-study. I'm also still looking for a job. My spare time, when it comes around? Will totally be spent thinking "ooh, pretty! oooh, shiny! oooh, super-awesome-cool story!" about television shows, even if it means I have to go out and invent new ones to fill the summertime void.

That was all a prelude to my shrieking about how very very awesome the Supernatural finale was. Have I ever been so completely satisfied by a finale? Well, Heroes' isn't until Monday, so this is subject to change, but I'm thinking not. VMars S1 and S2, maybe. Some Buffy finales. It's close. Clearly, what they all have in common is:

Resolution, particularly bringing stuff from earlier in the season in to be relevant to the story in a whole new way. Emotional resolution, definitely. Planting the seeds for the new season but not resorting to what is, in my opinion, the lamest plot device ever, the cliffhanger-of-doom. Like, where someone dies. Or might have died. That's a cliffhanger-of-doom, and I always feel manipulated.

Also, Supernatural still has the absolute best and most fitting music backgrounding its "previously ons"! At the first chord of "Carry On My Wayward Son," I might have cried a little. Particularly when "put your weary head to rest" overlaid - a particular scene.

Also loved it - and though I thought what I would love most would be the Lorelei/Luke reunion, it only came third. Second was Richard's speech to Lorelei essentially telling her how proud he was of the life she'd made for herself (though I wanted more closure with Emily, damn it!). And first? Oh my lord. Near the end, when Lorelei keeps babbling about stuff they might have forgotten to pack, and Rory's trying to interrupt, until she finally gets Lorelei to stop, and says "You've given me everything I need." Oh, man. I spent the next half hour in the fetal position. I'm crying again just writing about it.

I graduate tomorrow! I'm mostly worried about tripping. I know I've survived two graduations so far without it happening, but three, isn't that one of those ominous numbers?

Happily, it's supposed to be a short ceremony. And the robe and cap are kind of cool - fancier than what we got in high school and college. I knew it would be, that they get more and more exciting the higher up the academic ladder you climb, but still, there's purple velvet! How queenly.
