Happy birthday to me! I tend to get irrationally miffed when my birthday is not remembered and acknowledged by all and sundry, but as I was telling N in an email, it took *me* about two hours this morning to remember, which is clearly a sign that I should be benevolent and forgiving this year.
Also, I'm freshly home from a really wonderful weekend visiting my hometown & attending the wedding of a very good friend. I'm still enjoying the effects of time spent with old friends and the anxiety- and hostility-easing experience that is a five hour drive through the mountains of Pennsylvania and New York, just me, my iPod, and the open road. It was not a productive weekend by any means, except that I think maybe it was, because I am tremendously refreshed and my spirits renewed and I feel fully ready to tackle the next five weeks.
And turning twenty-six has, all in all, been a far less traumatizing experience than twenty-five was. So hurray for the anniversary of my birth, the day I quite literally landed feet-first in the silly world.

It was great to be able to visit, however briefly. Yesterday, completely out of the blue (we were playing around in the pool), Grant asked me if Aunt Sara was still here. I hope he meant "here" as in "in town" instead of "in our house" because although he has inherited my talent for being completely unobservant, I believe that he would have noticed you hanging around our living room sometime in that 24+ hours. Or at least I hope he would have. You never know with my kids.
Anyway, I'm glad you had a good trip home and I hope that Libby gave you an appropriate amount of kitty-love upon your return. Happy Birthday and all that stuff.

I know it's late, but I brought you a present (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t123/whiteotter/PriestsSansSleeves.jpg). :)
