teevee roundup!
So, Gossip Girl continues to be the unexpected everything I ever wanted in a television show, yo, but it makes more sense since I found that Jacob's recapping it at twop and it's like an unwritten mandate that I watch & love everything Jacob recaps. "Because I'm Chuck Bass" is going to be my new answer to every "duh!" question I'm asked. Just so you know.
Heroes needs to up the stakes - by this time last year, we already had Hiro's flash-forward to NYC exploding in five weeks' time and that gave even the slower episodes an undercurrent of urgency. Also, while Kensei is kind of awesome and should be transplanted to the twenty-first century post haste, I am otherwise entirely over that whole storyline, and pray it does not take up so much screentime next Monday.
House owns my soul. What else is there really to say?
America's Next Top Model seems to have turned down the camp a bit for this cycle, which is making for some refreshingly impressive photos, though not so much so that the whole thing doesn't remain firmly in the guilty pleasure category. Which, really, is as it should be.
Still waiting on Supernatural, tonight! I've been cranky since the casting spoilers I read ages ago, but I'll do my best to keep an open mind. I think I'm afraid it's going to fall into the Veronica Mars trap - where the just-barely-renewed show in its third season lets the idiot studio execs get their grubby paws on too much of the decision-making and the unfortunate result is a show that looks nothing at all like what I loved in its first two seasons. I kind of loathe the CW, even if I watch more shows on that network than any other (except maybe scifi? I'm too lazy to count), first for renewing $*&^ing 7th Heaven over Everwood (*sobs*) last year, and then the aforementioned Veronica Mars asshattery. Come on, CW, redeem yourself!
I watched Bionic Woman, but mostly to see Katee Sackhoff, which just makes me really miss Battlestar Galactica. Is it 2008 yet? She was predictably awesome, but the rest of the show kind of sucked.
Icon sadly irrelevant to any of the above, but used b/c it is totally hot. And more shows should aspire to such hotness. So not entirely irrelevant, then. Whatever.

I couldn't get through Bionic Woman, not even for Starbuck. And that's saying something, because Katee Sackhoff is *fantabulous*.
Have you watched Chuck? I think it's my favorite new show of the season. Even more so than Pushing Daisies.
