eeep!

Okay, Supernatural? Equals awesome.

Kind of like this week's House, there was a lot I loved, but then there was the thing that shines out like a big shiny thing and like a crow I can't take my eyes off of it, even though you could totally see it coming a mile away, but it was just so perfect - of COURSE the one thing not-as-annoying-as-I-feared-blonde-demon(!) can offer Sam that'll make him do anything other than drench her in holy water is to help save Dean. Oh, boys. I kind of adore you.

(And, um. Maybe I'm wrong, but the black-eye type demons always possess innocent humans, yes? So if Sam lets her continue to do her thing - and OF COURSE HE WILL, it's DEAN - the implications are kind of awesomely twisted.)

Other thoughts - once again, the MOTW was scary, so again I'm happy that the show seems to have regained that element of Season 1. Dean's arc in this episode was really wonderful, I just don't really have anything more to say about it. Overall, the episode felt amazingly balanced, between the main plot and the character development and the bits of the greater mytharc; it felt like a lot happened without any of it feeling rushed.

AWESOME.

In other news, somebody please check out this right brain-left brain visual test and tell me they see it going counter-clockwise, because I CANNOT. I mean, I can believe I'm right-brained, but I kept looking at it until I started to get twitchy and I just could not see it going anything other than clockwise.

i can see it going both ways. it changed directions several times when i was reading the descriptions, and once while i was looking directly at it.

Absolutely 100% counter-clockwise. But I'm so left-brained I can't even kick a ball with my left foot, or drink out of glass in my left hand.

Freaky. I saw it both ways, but about 80% of the time it was clockwise.

For me, it was mostly counter-clockwise, but I got it to flip a few times.

The site prompted a huge amount of discussion on a BBS I'm on, and one person came up with the following after having broken the animation down into its component 34 frames and altering the speed:

for me at least, it depends on where in the loop I start watching. If I start the loop anywhere in the first 29 frames, it looks like it is going clockwise. If I start the lop in the final 5 frames, it appears to go counter clockwise. The easy way to see this is which side of her body the leg is on when you begin watching it. If it starts with the leg on the left, it seems to look clockwise. If it starts with the leg on the right, it appears counter clockwise. This is a very well planned illusion.

AHHH! Someone showed me this last night and I was the only one who couldn't see it going both ways! I can only see clockwise. Even Rocky saw it going counter clockwise when he was really trying.
