plans and cars
OK! I'm renting a car, apparently. Full-size sedan, to minimize the culture shock. I hate driving any car that's not Ruby.
It's, see, I had this epiphany, a little while ago, that I loathe change. Which isn't really an epiphany, exactly, except that I happened to realize my actual dream is to continue to drive a dark red Pontiac Grand Prix named Ruby-the-next for as long as I am a person who drives. And I mean, why not. They rev up nicely, come with good sound systems, are perfectly sized, and they're American. It's just funny, because I didn't actually choose Ruby, and it's not that there aren't other cars out there that I think I'd like (if I were willing to embrace change I'd totally get a Subaru Outback for my next car) and now I'm going to be driving some incarnation of Ruby for the rest of my driving life. Fate! It is sweet. Plus, honestly, I could never top Ruby in car names.
(As an aside, I don't understand people who don't name their cars! Your car has the *very important job* of *getting you places safely* and being comfortable to be in while so doing. Treat your car with looooove! And it will love you!)
I should make a Ruby icon, srsly.
ETA: Aaaand, so of course they're apparently retiring the Grand Prix after next year. BASTARDS. But I did plan for this! So apparently in the future I will drive a Pontiac G8 and just call it a Grand Prix. Should make for fun times at the mechanic!
