spn three oh seven
It's Thursday night! Which means - once again, Supernatural has killed me DEAD.
I am struggling with coherency, seriously. This episode = everything I adore about this show. Brothers! Gordon! Brothers! Creepiness! Brothers! Never-before-reached heights of emo! Brothers! The Impala! @#%^ing BROTHERS!
Oh BOYS.
Those two scenes, I just, I cannot even touch them. I will cry if I do. Look, I'm seriously premenstrual already; they pushed every angst button I have and so I will just point and say, yes.
Moving on.
I know I said I hoped Bela would go away for awhile, but I was really happy with how she fit into this story - it was organic and she was deliciously self-serving and the accent still annoys the hell out of me (fine, supposedly she has AN accent, but you will never make me believe it is THIS accent, because she sounds exactly like I would if I tried to fake a posh British accent and I am perfectly aware of the fact that I would sound RIDICULOUS) but otherwise she was amusing and snarky and I bought the character and her role in the Supernatural universe a hell of a lot more than I did last week. (To be fair, I bought it in Bad Day too - I think last week was just fundamentally flawed, or Bela is just a character who needs to not be at the center of an episode. To be fair, Jo had the same problem, and I loved Jo.)
Harmony is a vampire! Heh. Best cameo EVER.
I love Gordon. I really, really love Gordon. If he had to go out, I can't imagine a better way. One tiny thing I felt was missing, though, was at least a mention of the vampires from Bloodlust - that they know not all vampires are monsters, that they can live off of animal blood. I know it wouldn't have made a difference to Gordon - part of his awesomeness is his totally black-and-white thinking, and I absolutely believe that he would've offed himself the second he'd taken out Sam - but it made killing Lucy just a tiny bit more problematic for me. I mean, yeah, what were they going to do, the Bloodlust vampires had been around for a long time and could exercise self-control and even for them it was a struggle, it's not like they could've babysat Lucy for however long it took. I'm just a continuity whore, and sometimes can't help seeing opportunities to bring it in.
I was having this random grumpy thought at one point, about the Impala and its conspicuous absence recently - sure there've been scenes IN the Impala, but the Impala is its own character, and it was being neglected! And then! IMPALA! Wrapped in a shiny bow of heartbreaking awesome!
God. SHOW. I'm going to go cry into my pillow now.
