It's my birthday in just one month! I was really dreading it, like, back in January when I started thinking about it, because twenty-seven feels sort of scary. And then I angsted about it so much that I've kind of started to think of myself as already being twenty-seven, so now when I stop and think about it, I'm like, hey! I'm only turning twenty-seven! Awesome!
I got a haircut yesterday, it's shorter and slightly emo! Only slightly. It is not really at all scene. This is a very important distinction, okay. I will maybe photograph it when I am less lazy.
When I go shopping alone I always think it'll go faster, since I'm only going where I want to go, etc. It always takes longer. Having someone there to sigh and act put-upon when I take forever in changing rooms really speeds things along.
I do this thing now, where even when I am not doing intentional shopping, if I'm at a place that sells jeans, I have to try some on. There's just nothing better than jeans that fit perfectly, and I generally find them when/where I am least expecting them. Going out and saying "I am buying some awesome new jeans" is a recipe for heartbreak and misery, so I finally just made jeans-trying-on a habitual staple of my consumerist existence. The point being, I found some of those rare jeans yesterday, and it was awesome. And it reminded me AGAIN how Lord & Taylor seldom fails to have unexpected treasures. Often on sale. Yay.
L&T also had a really, really cute dress that I LOVED but didn't even try on because it was a hundred and fifty dollars, which is more than I am capable of spending on a dress. Then when I got home I remembered that I have a birthday coming up, and wished I had tried it on. It was really cute. Kind of exactly the dress I have been wanting for summer. And then I concluded that life was easier when I was less girly. Cheaper, also.
I am still in Panic withdrawal, which is sad. It will probably last at least until there are fall tour dates, at which point I can begin planning. I am thinking I need to do at least three dates next time, but I don't know. Five is not out of the realm of possibility. We'll say six is my absolute cut-off point, okay?

If that should fail to work out, I hear american apparel has gift certificates. I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong there.
