Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Nope.
Abortion: for or against?
I am going to presume that the question here is "abortion: legal or illegal?" because, no matter what some pro-lifers appear to believe, there aren't actually heaps of pro-choicers running around going "yippee abortions for everyone!!!" And with that my stance is probably pretty clear: I think abortion should absolutely be legal, and it should be accessible. And as long as I'm soapboxing, here's another: I think that while men are obviously entitled to an opinion on the issue, their opinions will carry weight with me just as soon as it's possible for men to get pregnant, be host to a biological entity for nine months, shove that entity out through a tiny opening, and be the parent that society is more likely to judge if they fail at parenting in any way.
Just so we're clear.
Would our country fall with a woman president?
It might. The country hasn't fallen with any president yet - not even the current one, so I think that whole separation of powers thing is probably doing its job. If it's going to fall by the hand of one person, though, I don't think a woman is any more or less likely than a man to be capable of bringing it down.
Do you support the death penalty?
No. And you know, it's not even the statistics that show how it is an overwhelmingly flawed system that makes me so against it - they could put every single safeguard in place and have some way of proving that only the ACTUALLY guilty, the ACTUAL worst of the worst, were being executed, and that there was ACTUALLY some deterrent effect, and I'd still be against it. There's an incredible, sickening arrogance in the idea that we can judge certain people entirely beyond redemption. That some people are irredeemable I have no doubt, but by what standard can we possibly make that call?
I am, however, for the castration of rapists. Double standards are fun.
Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Sure. Mostly because I'm still not sure why it's illegal. I'd take a stoned person over a drunk person (and a pothead over an alcoholic) any day.
Are you for or against premarital sex?
I don't really care. I guess I'm against promoting the idea that premarital sex is bad, but sex, and the decision of when to have it, is a personal choice that is absolutely none of my business.
Do you believe in God?
Yes.
Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes, and I have yet to see an argument against legalization that is anything other than homophobia wrapped up in "but think of the FAMILIES." I AM thinking of the families, you bigoted dipshits.
Do you think it’s wrong that so many illegal Hispanics are moving to the USA?
No.
A 12 year old girl has a baby... should she keep it?
And be its only full-time parent, probably not. Otherwise, there are too many unknown variables for me to have an opinion.
Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
Maybe. I doubt it really matters.
Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Ehhhh. This is a question I could go back and forth on forever, and I'm not well-informed enough for my opinion to be at all meaningful, so. I think STARTING the war was a huge fucking mistake, and the tiny ember of superiority I can claim for having had that opinion from the start is pretty meaningless, really. It's pretty awful to think of making such an awful mess and then running away and leaving it there, but then it's also pretty awful to think about dead and wounded soldiers, billions of wasted dollars, and the possibility that staying just makes things worse. I'd like to believe that the decision was in the hands of someone who was fully informed and able to make the best possible decision for both America and Iraq and who would use that knowledge to withdraw just as soon as it made sense to do so, without any political agenda. There's my answer. And yeah, I'd also like to believe in Santa Claus and unicorns.
Assisted suicide is illegal... do you agree?
Usually. It's one of those things where I don't think it should be legal but I don't think it should be ILlegal either. I'm not sure it's really workable, though.
Do you believe in spanking your children?
I'm not a parent, so I give my own opinion less weight, but only in the most extreme situations - if a kid does something stupid and risky, like running out into traffic, I think it can be an effective and immediate way of making clear how big a NO that is. Anything less dire, and I think you get on shaky ground - I absolutely don't think it should happen in anger, and it's probably pretty hard to make sure that doesn't happen when you spank a kid because they're being a total little shit.
Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Absolutely!
A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case... do you agree?
I don't know, what was the outcome for the father who murdered his 5 children in a temporary insanity case?
Are you afraid others will judge you for reading some of your answers?
I'm pretty sure if I were worried about that, I would have, you know, not done the meme. I'm also pretty sure there's nothing here you didn't already know (or could have guessed).
