Was pleased to find that the nurses and nurse practioners at Health Services were quite friendly and soothing. The whole thing took longer than I expected, since they had to clear my ear out before they could see the eardrum, which consisted of my spending about twenty minutes lying on the exam table with an ear full of peroxide and then some vigorous, slightly uncomfortable flushing. But the verdict was that I do, in fact, have an ear infection, so I left clutching a prescription for Amoxycillan. Which I shall fill tomorrow when, I hope, it will no longer be cold and raining. I've never filled a prescription on my own before - look, my hypersheltered, uberbabied roots are showing - and I'm oddly nervous. I spent a year and a half behind a pharmacy counter, I know how irritating the entire process can be. And the CVS in town is known for *only* employing rude, maladjusted miscreants.
I *will* attend Women Mystics tomorrow. And poetry. I only hope I can mostly stifle the perpetual coughing for the better part of two hours.
I will also not think about how much work I have left to do. I will just do it.
L said my hair made me look like a truffle. L is on crack. But she is amusing. I love L.
